Bridge Dentiste Divonne

1. What is a dental bridge?

A bridge is a fixed prosthesis that replaces one or more missing teeth. It rests on a solid tooth on either side of the gap. It is also recommended when a cavity has reached the root or in the case of a broken tooth with root fracture. In order to fix the bridge properly, it is sometimes necessary to devitalize and trim the healthy teeth on which it rests.

For very specific and therefore restricted applications, there are other types of bridge such as the extension bridge (cantilever) or the glued bridge (Maryland).
